Easy Dessert Garnishes

A cupcake can go from homemade to gourmet in seconds if you know how to use candy melts.

An effortless, inexpensive way to make your cupcakes look expensive & bakery-bought ~~~ it can be done in 3 easy steps!

You Will Need:
Bag Wilton Candy Melts
1-2 Candy Melt Squeeze Bottles
Candy Melt Molding Tray ** Thin & clear plastic trays. If you prefer not to use molds or you can't find a design you like, you can make your own using parchment/wax paper like this.

All of these items can be found at Michael's or your local baking supply store.

STEP 1:
Fill squeeze bottles with candy melts. Microwave for 45 seconds. Take out and test with a butterknife by mixing melts around in bottle to gauge consistency. Make sure that it is thin enough to squeeze out of the nozzle.

STEP 2:
Squeeze the melted candy melts into the tray slowly. Careful not to overflow, otherwise it will look messy on one side and nice and neat on the other.

STEP 3:
Put tray in refrigerator and let cool to a solid for about 20 minutes. Or if you are short on time, you can put it in the freezer for 10.

Once melts have cooled, pop out of tray (or carefully peel off of parchment paper) and place on top of your cupcake as you please.

You can mix candy melt colors and flavors for a different effect, like so:

Enjoy!
