Rose Frosted Cupcakes
This post is less recipe, more technique.
In fact, you can use just about any cake/frosting flavor or recipe you'd like for a rose cupcake. The most important thing to consider is that no matter what recipe you choose, the frosting needs to have a thicker consistency for better shaping.
You will need a large flower tip from Wilton (Wilton #104). There is a smaller version of this tip available, as well. But for purposes of icing a cupcake, the larger tip is best.
When I made these cupcakes, I followed this video step-by-step. It took a few tries, but a few cupcakes later, I became a pro at rose cupcakes! They're a little more time consuming than regularly frosted cupcakes, but the end result is definitely worth it.
